Bread & Blessing 2020, When tasked with creating a Dia de los Muertos inspired screen print, at first I panicked! As a Jewish, Moroccan-Israeli woman, I didn’t know the first thing about Dia de los Muertos! Fortunately upon my research I found that both my heritage and the culture behind this holiday had a strong tradition of baking bread, matrilineal customs, family, candle lighting, and a respect for the dead.
